Before to start talking, babies study to consider

The American scientists assert, that ability to understand number comes to the person long before acquisition of skills of speech. Experimental it has been by proved, that babies, not being able yet to speak and independently to accept food, show abilities to mathematics.

Physicians from University Djuka Duke University in the State of North Carolina have made experiment which has shown, that 7-month's babies can unmistakably define, how many people talk at present time, writes The Guardian.

Twenty babies accepted two videorecordings in which women said a word "look" ("look"). In one clip two women, in other - three have been removed. To some babies have put records of voices of two women saying a word "look", to another - records of voices of three women, and in parallel, on the next screens, to kids have simultaneously shown both videoclips without a sound.

As a result the most part (60 %) time spent for viewing of records, babies looked "correct" videorecording on which the number of women coincided with a poll in an audio record.

Results of experiment, according to researchers, "represent an example of origin at the person of the mathematical abilities laying outside of other feelings and sensations", informs the British edition.
